Yesterday was Gregory's big day. We knew almost immediately after he was born (before we got to see him), that he'd have to have this surgery and have dreaded it ever since. I'm not posting specifics about the surgery on Blogger, out of respect for him, but if you know me- feel free to ask in person, e-mail, or phone. :) Anyway, the surgery went well and took exactly as long as we'd expected, but yesterday afternoon was tough. It was very obvious that he was in a lot of discomfort and it broke all of our hearts. Even though we do have a baby monitor, I did sleep in his room last night, it just made me feel better to be closer. He did wake up a few times and want to be nursed, but he went right back to sleep. Today, he's acting much more like himself. We did have to give him some pain meds this morning, but considering he hadn't had any since 4:00pm yesterday, I think he's doing really well. Yesterday he wouldn't let me put him down or walk away. Today he is being silly, playing, and had some yogurt for breakfast- Yay! We do have to go back tomorrow to have the last part taken care of, but it should be short and sweet- thank goodness. Here are some pre-surgery pictures...
