The drive up there was a different story... we left here at 2:15 on Thursday with eyes swollen and just enough sleep to get us to Dallas. The whole reason for this was so that Gregory would sleep the whole way, in theory anyway. Well, he slept for about half the trip and not consecutively either. I think he had a hard time sleeping because lights from the streets and trucks kept flashing in his eyes and he didn't know what was going on. I tried to shade his eyes, but that didn't help much. The trip back was a lot like the trip up. We came upon a Cracker Barrel somewhere between Huntsville and Houston at 5:30am and decided to stop. In case you are wondering, no, they aren't open at that time... not til 6:00am, but we figured it would give Gregory some time to stretch. We were there about an hour and a half. It was so nice outside and we weren't even alone in the parking lot. Every few minutes people pulled up in corvettes like there was a mini corvette convention or something. There were about five of them there. Anyway, it was a good break. There weren't a ton of people there and once we got back on the road, Gregory was good to go. Plus, since the sun was out, he was able to see and play with his toys. I think we've finally recovered from the lack of sleep.
Here's a video of Gregory's first time in a high chair and on very little sleep- especially for an 8 month old!!!
A rare Wes approved picture. These guys were so happy to see each other on Saturday!

I am glad you made it back from Dallas safe and little one has recovered from the lack of sleep!
